Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that is invisible, odorless, and tasteless. It is formed by the decay of uranium and thorium in rocks, soil, and groundwater. While radon in the outdoor air is diluted and not a concern, it can accumulate to dangerous levels in enclosed spaces like homes and buildings. Exposure to high levels of radon over time can increase the risk of lung cancer.
